Oh ya, forgot to explain...

It slipped my mind to explain my URL name "at the chelsea hotel"...

I recently read "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. It was a well written, interesting take on Patti's venture to NYC in the late 60's early 70's and her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. It takes them from young naive kids with artistic dreams beyond grasp, to talented, well respected artists of their time...while remaining true to each other as Muse and Artist (interchangeably).

Their most prominent and influential years are those in the 70's that they spent at the famous Chelsea Hotel in NYC. It was a mixing pot of young artists and musicians at the forefront of the rock'n roll culture of the 1970's. If you were someone in the early 1970's- you hung out at the Chelsea Hotel. She recounts her interaction with Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin, but more than that, it was the place that allowed her fearless exploration of her creativity. Without that nurturing environment she may never have fully realized her potential.

Since I will never get the chance to experience the Chelsea Hotel in its prime, I have a created a place to help nurture my own creative juices, a sort of nest of art, music and culture that i imagine the chelsea would have today if I could have it my way.

At the Chelsea Hotel...
